Indonesia: Jakarta - Sea World

Sea World Indonesia or also known as Sea World Ancol is a marine aquarium located in North Jakarta, Indonesia, one of Taman Impian Jaya Ancol recreation parks. It has one Main tank, one shark tank, and several other tanks, and also the white crocodile exhibit. The Main tank of the Sea World Ancol is the biggest aquarium in the Southeast Asia.
 

SeaWorld Indonesia introduces the visitors many living organisms that live in the wild. A wide ranging collection we can see here: freshwater biota (22,000 fishes of 126 types and 28 reptiles of 5 types) and the marine biota (5180 fishes of 26 species, 79 invertebrates of 13 species, 30 reptiles of 5 types) and 1 mammal.



Visitors can see these animals at:
  • Main Tank - the salt-water aquarium with the size of 36 x 24 meters with depth up to 6 meters. It has 5 million liters of Salt Water and there's up to 3500 of marine animals life in there.
  • Sharkquarium - the aquarium with more than 7 different species of sharks. it also shows a feed the shark attaraction.
  • Freshwater Area - the area with several smaller aquariums for freshwater animals like Piranha, Arapaima Gigas, and Electric Eels.
  • Antasena Tunnel - the 80 meter tunnel inside the Main tank with automatic travelator and transparent roof. We can get the underwater look sensation from it.
  • Dugong Tank - an aquarium that lived a pair of dugongs.
  • Ecosystem Tank - an aquarium with Sponge and Coral and little marine animals like Clownfish and Guppies.
  • Deep Sea Area - an area that show of preserved deep sea animal, the preserved deep sea animal placed in a glass tube.
  
Touch pool
In main area, seaworld put a pool that live some you can touch little sharks, stingrays, turtles, anemones, starfishs and some others. Kids love this attraction. This animals are not harmful, they don’t bite but for your own safety, do not handle these animals roughly. Bring some change for the kids in case they get wet.
  
Feeding Schedules
The feeding attractions of marine animals at SeaWorld Indonesia are very interesting. The visitors of SeaWorld Indonesia are usually very enthusiastic to see the feeding of sharks and piranhas, fit your visiting time to their feeding schedule. The feeding schedules at SeaWorld Indonesia are as follow:
  • Sting rays, seafish, turtle and other fishes in the main saltwater aquarium are to be feed on 11:00 and 15:30 on Monday to Friday, and on 11:00, 14:00 and 16:30 on every weekend and holidays.
  • Aquarium for sharks to be feed everyday on 14:00pm.Scuba diver is in an iron cage to feed the wild sharks
  • Sharks and turtle collections in the pool that can be touched by visitors to be feed everyday on 10:00, 13:30 and 17:00.
  • Crocodile babies to be feed everyday on 14:00pm.
  • Dugong to be feed everyday on 09:15, 11:30 and 14:30.
  • Piranha to be feed on 09:30 am every Monday to Friday and on 12:00pm on weekend and holidays.  
 
SeaWorld Indonesia is located next to Gelanggang Samudera, an exhibition arena for dolphins, white whale and sea lions that accompanied with four dimensions theater (Theater 4-D). You might want to schedule on visiting Gelanggang Samudera as well once you’re done with SeaWorld Indonesia
