Rumah Tanah Baru (Newland House) is a ceramics gallery belong to F. Widayanto, a famous ceramics maestro in Indonesia, It located on 1st Curug Agung street, Tanah Baru, Beji, Depok, West Java - Indonesia. This area is a suburb of Jakarta. However, If you do not have enough time to go here, you can also visit the gallery at 11th Setiabudi II street, Jakarta.

It is one of the places often visited by locals especially during school holidays and also foreign tourists. Rumah Tanah Baru offers a pottery making package, where you can experience the making of your very own ceramic design, having a fun day with clay for you and your children.
The staff there will show you the basics of making ceramics where you can learn to form the clay with some cute cast that they have provided or mold it anyway you wish, you can even carved your initial on the ceramics. Afterwards you can paint it then give them to the staff there where they will help you with the finishing process.

Since the finishing might take days, you can pick up your ceramics in their office in Jakarta or ask them to ship them for you for an additional cost. These ceramics would be a beautiful souvenirs for you to bring home.
The house is built on a land area of 1.3 hectares in 1997. It consists of three staircase steps that are filled with a variety of green trees. The air is cool, fresh and pollution-free. At the upper step you can find a studio / ceramics workshop class. At lower one sited a hall, restaurants and ceramic shop with a beautiful tropical garden . The house itself is a beautiful traditional Javanese house and worth exploring.
While waiting for your child's work, we can enjoy the private collection of ceramics and interior / architecture of the house, including the bedroom and the unique main bathroom. Prepare your camera, take a picture every corner of the house. You will also get a lot of good pictures in the outside area as well.
